Palm EOS

Palm Pre for Sprint has not yet been released and yet there is already a full list of specifications and descriptions for a new webOS-powered smartphone called the Palm Eos. The Palm Eos will be much thinner than the Palm Pre and features a small QWERTY-keyboard on the front right below the 2.6-inch, 320-by-400 pixels, and capacitive touchscreen.

The Palm Eos is powered by webOS and it is a quad-band GSM phone with mobile broadband (HSDPA). According to the leaked list of specifications, the Palm Eos will have 4GB of internal storage and no removable memory card slot. The lack of a removable storage card is a good move in order to keep the Palm Eos at a super slim thickness of only 10.6mm or 0.4 inches thick! Rounding out the Eos’ dimension is 4.4 inches tall by 2.2 inches wide.

Other Palm Eos features include a 2MP camera, GPS (probably Telenav), stereo Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and as it stands right now, there’s no WiFi.

Powered by webOS means that Palm Eos will inherit all the software features of the Palm Pre; a multi-tasking operating system able to wirelessly synchronize a wide variety of data with online services like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft Exchange. Even though Eos’ display is smaller than the Pre, it will come with a highly capable web browser, multimedia player, Google Maps, email solutions and most importantly Synergy. Third-party applications should also work on the Eos.

The Palm Eos is rumored to sell for a price of $349 before carrier subsidizations and is reportedly to be available from AT&T without a contract.
